1. Services
Bath Painter provides painting, decorating, and related property improvement services across Bath, Keynsham, Midsomer Norton, Bristol, and surrounding areas in Somerset. All work is carried out by Duncan Herron or under his direct supervision.
2. Quotes and Pricing
- All quotes are free and provided without obligation.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued, unless otherwise stated.
- Prices are based on the work described at the time of quoting. Additional work requested during a project may incur additional charges, which will be agreed in advance.
- We reserve the right to adjust prices if material costs change significantly between quote and work commencement.
3. Scheduling and Availability
We will agree a start date and estimated completion time before work begins. Weather, material availability, or other unforeseen circumstances may cause delays — we will communicate any changes as soon as possible.
4. Payment
- Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept bank transfer and cash. Cheques are accepted by prior arrangement.
- Larger projects may require a deposit (typically 25%) before work commences, with the balance due on completion.
- Overdue payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.
5. Cancellation
- You may cancel a booking at any time before work begins. Deposits will be refunded in full if cancellation is received more than 7 days before the scheduled start date.
- Cancellations within 7 days of the start date may forfeit the deposit to cover material costs already incurred.
- Bath Painter reserves the right to decline or withdraw from a project if site conditions are unsafe or differ materially from those described at quoting.
6. Guarantees
All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. This covers defects in application, not normal wear and tear, damage caused by others, or issues arising from structural problems not visible at the time of work. Material warranties are provided by the manufacturer and passed through to you.
7. Insurance
Bath Painter holds full public liability insurance. Proof of insurance is available on request.
8. Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
9. Disputes
We aim to resolve any disputes promptly and fairly. If we cannot agree, either party may seek resolution through the relevant trading standards authority or, for domestic clients, alternative dispute resolution through the Consumer Ombudsman.
10. Website

11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
